Do you sometimes feel down or hard on yourself? Interested to learn tools or strategies for welcoming more kindness into your yoga practice, inner dialogue, or life?

Being a friend to oneself in moments of difficulty – called self-compassion – is a powerful inner resource that can help support your personal and in turn collective wellbeing.

The practice of self-compassion deeply aids well-being and is a helpful complement to yoga practice, along with other beautiful qualities termed the “divine abodes” of the heart.

“By cultivating attitudes of friendliness toward the happy, compassion for the unhappy, delight in the virtuous, and equanimity toward the non-virtuous, the mind-stuff retains undisturbed calmness.”

— Yoga Sutra 1.33, Swami Satchidananda’s commentary

From a practical standpoint, research shows that learning to be kinder to yourself can support your personal goals and help address a variety of concerns, including stress, anxiety, depression, self-criticism, perfectionism, chronic pain, and more!

In this collaborative experiential workshop, you will be invited to share what you already know about self-compassion and learn more about the essentials, including tools, practices, and resources that you can apply in your life moving forward.

NO EXPERIENCE NECESSARY - ALL WELCOME!

Offering is identity-inclusive and trauma-informed.

Workshop is free, but pre-registration is necessary.

Facilitator: Tosca Braun, licensed psychologist, certified yoga therapist and Mindful Self-Compassion teacher, and teacher of Compassion Cultivation Training and Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR).
